Dominic
Franks
Four nights in northern Mallorca with one of the UK's most warmly regarded food writers, hosted at Son Sant Jordi, Pollença — recognised as a National Geographic Culinary Destination for 2026–2027. Dominic hosts every part of it, in person — market mornings, kitchen sessions, long lunches and private dinners. He's with you for all four days, not just the cooking.
Places are available as a single or as a double for two guests sharing. Partners joining for the stay but not the programme are welcome under our companion rate — which covers transfers, accommodation, breakfast, three dinners and wine.
Dominic has spent a lifetime writing about the way food connects people — to place, to memory, to each other. This residency is a rare chance to spend four nights inside that world. Not a masterclass. Not a holiday. Something quieter and more lasting than either.
"I've never been able to separate cooking from conversation. The kitchen is where I think, and the table is where those thoughts find their shape. What I want for these five days is simple — joy, laughter, good ingredients, honest cooking, and people who understand why that matters."

Everything taken care of
One price, already arranged — from the room you'll sleep in to the table you'll eat at, every detail below is already included and already paid for. Arrive, and let the rest take care of itself.
Four nights at Son Sant Jordi, a family-owned collection of 17th-century Mallorcan houses in the heart of Pollença. Your own private room with en-suite bathroom — characterful, and nothing like a hotel room.
Four breakfasts, three cooking lessons and lunches with Dominic, three private evening dinners at Son Sant Jordi, and one dinner at an exclusive local restaurant.
A guided vineyard tour with tasting and aperitivo, an aperitivo evening in the village of Pollença, and wine and refreshments poured throughout your stay.
A cheese-tasting tour of a working goat farm, the Pollença Sunday market, a history walk through the old town, a bakery tour, two product tastings, and a morning countryside walk with Dominic.
Every airport transfer and all ground transport for group activities throughout the residency — arranged in advance, so there's nothing for you to book or organise yourself.
A welcome gift waiting in your room on arrival, and a copy of Dominic's own book, signed by him personally, yours to take home.
Flights to Palma are not included. Happy to advise on travel options.

Questions? Ask us
Frequently asked questions
What's included in the price?
Everything, for every day you're here — your private room, every meal and dinner, wine and drinks throughout, the full experience schedule, and all transfers and ground transport. Flights to Palma aren't included, but we're happy to advise on travel options.
Is Dominic there for the whole retreat?
Yes — in person, for all four days. Dominic hosts every market morning, farm and vineyard visit, cooking lesson and dinner himself. This isn't a guest appearance; it's four days inside his world.
How many guests join each retreat?
Just 10 guests per residency, kept deliberately small so every session stays hands-on and personal.
What are the accommodation options?
Single Occupancy gives you your own private room with en-suite bathroom. Double Occupancy is a shared room for two, ideal for friends or partners travelling together. Retreat Guest + Companion lets someone join you for accommodation, breakfasts, select dinners and transfers, without taking part in the cooking sessions themselves.
Can you accommodate dietary requirements?
Yes — let us know any dietary requirements or allergies when you book, or any time before the retreat, and we'll take care of it.
How does payment work?
Your total is split into three payments: 25% at booking to secure your place, a further 25% partway through the lead-up, and the final 50% shortly before the retreat. The second and final payments are charged automatically to the same card, and we email a reminder a week before each one.
What is the cancellation policy?
You have 14 days from booking to cancel for a full refund. After that, a partial refund is available up until the cut-off date set out in our full booking terms; payments are non-refundable after that date. You're also welcome to transfer your place to someone else at any time, subject to our approval — full terms are linked at checkout.
Do I need travel insurance?
We strongly advise taking out travel insurance to cover your trip, including cancellation cover. We'll remind you again closer to your retreat, but it's worth arranging as soon as you've booked.
Do I need to book my own flights?
Yes — flights to Palma aren't included, but we're happy to advise on the best routes and timing once you've booked.
Is transport included during the retreat?
Yes — airport transfers and all ground transport for group activities are included throughout your stay.
What happens if the retreat doesn't go ahead?
In the unlikely event the retreat can't proceed — for example if the host is unable to attend or a supplier withdraws — every guest is refunded in full or transferred to a future retreat, whichever you prefer.
